in this case we say guarda because it's a command, an imperative form.
If I want you to do something I will use this form.
mangia la pasta! eat the pasta!
torna qui! come back here!
ascolta la radio! listen to the radio!

Fall asleep = Addormentarsi.
es : Mi sono addormentato. = I fell asleep.

Does the preposition addosso never require an object (e.g. La torre di Pisa cade addesso "us") or is that object understood from the context?

Actually the preposition "addosso" requires an object. In this case is "ci" that means "us", "to us".
Ci cade addosso=cade addosso a noi
I know that "ci" is just a particle but it's very important! ;-)

i have a few questions...
Oddio and O mio dio mean oh my god but can you use them both when ever or is there a differents?

@la_bella_italia They're pretty much interchangeable. You just have to remember to capitalize the D in Dio when you say "mio Dio," or "o mio Dio!" Otherwise you can say these things to mean the same thing (my goodness!):
mio Dio!
o mio Dio!
Dio mio!
santo cielo!
oddio!

The past form for cade is è caduta.
