Bonjourno! I am brand new to Italian pod. I am American and love gnocci - so glad to know I was pronouncing it correctly. I, too, love pesto. Americans just have food envy of Italians. Your food is so much better!

I've been once, just for a day. I was staying in the French Alps and took a day trip from St. Bernard across the border to Saint Bernardo (Italian side). I had a lovely meal there. We are traveling to Italy in the spring, and I look forward to the delicious food, and hope I can pick up a bit of Italian for our trip.

Blueshaffer, the landscape near Passo San Bernardo is beautiful and I'm sure that the meal was lovely!
Hope we can help you with Italianpod to learn as much as you can during these months... If you have any questions or suggestion feel free to write here in the discussion section!

Why is carne machinata translated as "ground meat" - isn't it just mince?

@fairhsa1 The two mean the same thing (ground/minced meat) and can be translated as carne macinata.
