I agree. This was a great lesson. You covered a lot of material for a newbie lesson.
No. I am not gay.

yes good on you Italianpod, it's an important thing to learn how to say and discuss in any language! I'm not gay but I live in Sydney, we have the fabulous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras every year, and it's a fairly gay-friendly place. I imagine the Pope wouldn't enjoy the Mardi Gras much. ;)

An "intelligent" italian song about this topic ;-)
The lyrics is a little bit difficult, hope that u can enjoy it!
Vado di fretta
vado di fretta
non ho più tempo
datemi retta
Gino mi aspetta
dentro un'Alfetta
piena di muffa
Vado di corsa
vado a una festa
piena di gente
molto entusiasta
ora non posso
vado di prescia
forse ritorno
Maria sei sempre mia
sei l'unica possibile
Ehi ehi
sono gay sono gay
non sono gay, no non sono gay
sono gay sono come vuoi
oggi sono lui
da domani poi se lo vuoi
sarò lei
sarò solo lei
mi dirai: come fai
e tu pensi ricchione
Maria sei sempre mia
sei l?unica possibile

This is my first post - yay!
Thank you very much for the lyrics and for the video. Great song. I also like 'Novembre' by Giusy Ferreri, mentioned previously somewhere on ItalianPod.
In addition to TV and movies, I find song lyrics a great way to learn a language. It helps to become familiar with the feeling of the language and I find it much easier to commit vocabulary and phrases to memory when they're accompanied by music (and/or visual scenes). Thanks again!

Irene,
Loved the lesson, loved the song. Grazie!

Hey guys: here's a translation of the song Irene posted above:
I’m in a hurry
I’m in a hurry
I don’t have any more time
Listen to me
Gino’s waiting for me
Inside an Alfetta [an Italian car]
Full of mold
I’m in a hurry
I’m going to a party
Full of people
Really enthusiastic
Now I can’t
I’m in a hurry
Maybe I’ll come back
But it’s not a promise
I’m in a hurry
I’m in a rush
Everything I need is in the bag
And it’ll be enough for now
Maria you’ll always be mine
You’re the only one
But I trust Gino a little bit more
He captures me
And he relaxes me
Gino sees things the same way I do
And for now he’s enough for me
Hey hey
I’m gay I’m gay
I’m not gay, no I’m not gay
I’m gay like you want
Today I’m him
After tomorrow if you want
I’ll be her
I’ll only be her
You’ll say to me: how do you do it
How don’t you know what you are
You’re different from us
What do you want, I’m gay it’s my own business
How does that bother you
What huge discomfort do you get from it
I’m gay I’m gay
Yes, I’m gay
No, I’m not gay, but I’d like
But do you know how many geniuses and heroes are gay
You don’t know?
Or you don’t want to remember
You prefer to think
That a gay is a kind of error
An immoral thing
Or in the best case
A joker, circus phenomenon
And you’ll tolerate it only as an exception
And you’ll tolerate it only on TV
They call him gay
And you think fag
Maria you’ll always be mine
You’re the only one
He captures me
And he relaxes me
Gino sees things the same way I do
And for now that’s enough for me.

My first post. :)
Great topic!
Sorry, I really don't get the song. Is he gay or not? Bi? Or are there two people talking? In any case, I really like the rhythm and melody of the song. Thanks for sharing! I'm really excited to be learning Italian!
