Bababardwan , il tuo mezzo di trasporto è molto cool...è uno zaino-razzo, jet-pack!
Io però preferisco andare in bici... (even if now I don't have one because it was stolen!!)

annaa,
le bici possono anche essere fresco [o caldo, a seconda di come si guarda a lui]
[bikes can also be cool (or hot depending on how you look at it) ]:
Sorry to hear yours got stolen.

Bababardwan, in italian we would call it moto, like tjgolubi wrote...
I'm sorry but bici can be considered just the old-fashioned bike, without engine... maybe not that cool!

Catherine,
Just a quick question..
If I wanted to say "We went for a bicycle ride," - would that be "Siamo andati in bici" ?? or is there another way of saying "bicycle ride"?
Thanks

Hi beachsn7, as Italian I would say
abbiamo fatto un giro in bici
it means that it was just a ride, without a specific destination!
@ bababardwan ...I have to admit that those bikes are pretty cool. We wouldn't use the word fresco to translate cool in that sense though... you can leave the english word and just say bici cool.

Annna -
Thank you so much for you help!! I really appreciate it!

annaa,
Yeah,I didn't think it would be likely that it could be used in that sense.Surely there must be some other Italian word that could be used in a similar way though without borrowing the English cool.
btw Just saw your profile.I thought you must be a native speaker.Benvenuti ItalianPod.

@beachsn7, no problem! I'm here to help you with any question you all may have.
@bababardwan, yes there are some words that can be used in Italian to say "cool" without borrowing the English word, you can say forte (that literally means strong) or figo/fico/ganzo, but these are words used only in very informal situations.
So for example it would be che bici forte! what a cool bike!

annaa,
